Mission

To offer a variety of technical services from a skilled specialist to clients of academic institutions or corporations interested in promoting the effective use of technology.

Clients using UC Technical Services resources benefit from:

What Can We Offer?

Technical consulting, training, and support with acute expertise and extensive experience in LAN/WAN administration, facility design for IT networks, multi-media training/classrooms, and interactive videoconferencing. UC Technical Services provides technical support for academic institutions and businesses through cost effective contractural fees for service on an hourly, daily or other customized period to specifically meet client's needs.

Network Consulting:

Specific areas of specialization include, but are not limited to:

  • LAN/WAN analysis and administration
  • Network topology design and planning
  • Systems Analysis

Video Consulting:

A full array of consulting services are available as described below:

  • Facility/network infrastructure analysis for IVC expansion or redesign
  • Assistance in new equipment purchases
  • Equipment installation, troubleshooting and reconfiguration
  • Short or long term technical support
  • On-site support or via remote network access
  • Dedicated videoconferencing room design and layouts
  • Consulting and demonstration of IVC peripherals and presentation formats
  • Customized Faculty/Staff development &/or training in IVC technology
  •  IVC Basic Training Guide for Faculty/Staff
  • Pre-purchase on-site beta testing of IVC equipment
  • Full support of IVC standard compliant ISDN and/or Video over IP IVC equipment including: Polycom, Tandberg, and others
  • Expertise with supporting and installing H.320/323 Video Gateway boxes
  • Expertise with supporting and installing IP based Multipoint Control Units (MCUs)

Our Clients

The UC Staff has  provided a full array of services for a variety of clients. This includes extensive server farm management for cooperatives, resolving critical network issues in emergencies, performing high level network performance analysis, providing specialized consulting services such as: network topology planning, technology classrooms, or deploying interactive videoconferencing throughout an organization's WAN.

Senior Consultant

John Reeg's expertise covers all areas of LAN/WAN administration, systems analysis and facility design. He also possesses acute expertise in interactive videoconferencing from systems design to full integration and end user training, of which he is known regionally and nationally as a recognized expert in the field. He serves as the CIO for the University Center at Everett Station which includes partnerships with all 5 major universities for the State of Washington. John has a Masters degree in Education as well as Bachelor degrees in both Education and Business Administration/CIS. John has served in a wide variety of MIS and Instructonal Technology leadership positions for over 20 years throughout the Western United States at all levels of Education as well as in Corporate positions.
